IQF MECHANICAL FREEZING

IQF – or individual quick freezing – is a method to freeze separate food items very quickly.

 

It is also a method that guarantees high food quality, food safety as well as the preservation of size, taste, and cell structure.

 

The principle behind mechanical IQF is fast and cold air circulation that flows horizontally and is guided over individual items to freeze them very quickly.

Plate freezing is a block or tray freezing method with a large freezing capacity and a small footprint.

 

The method has a well-established preservation process that maintains high quality, nutritional value, and ensures the food a long storage life.

 

It is particularly relevant for fast freezing of high-volume products, and if you choose a plate freezing solution from us, it is up to 30% more energy efficient than alternative freezing technologies.

IQF CRYOGENIC FREEZING

Cryogenic freezing is the fastest IQF freezing method on the market.

 

In cryofreezing, the items are sprayed or immersed directly in liquid nitrogen or carbon dioxide and frozen almost instantly.

 

The method prevents the formation of macro crystals – which is preferable, as large ice crystals rupture the food’s cell membranes and cause fluid loss. The lack of macro crystals results in the highest product quality of frozen and chilled food that sustains its natural nutritional value, taste, and shape.
